The incident took place around 1:07 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, when Darien Police responded to Hollow Tree Ridge Road at Wee Burn Lane for a report of a vehicle crash, said Darien Police Sgt. James Palmieri.

Officers arrived and found the vehicle has struck a stone wall and the crash had injured two of the four people in the car, police said.

The two injured passengers were transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, Kendall Wilborn, 24, of Bridgeport, told officers he was driving to a friend’s house when he lost control of the vehicle.

As he spoke, officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and that he swayed while stood and had glassy eyes, Palmieri said.

When asked, Wilborn admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening and submitted to standardized field sobriety testing, which he failed to perform to an acceptable standard.

Wilborn was arrested and charged with DUI and improper turn.

At police headquarters, he submitted to breathalyzer testing which measured his BAC to be .1841 and .1885.

Wilborn was released on a $750 bond and is due in court in December
